Yes, you can make test in any labaratory for hsv-1 and hsv-2.

My (possibly soon-to-be-ex) girlfriend has had what she refers to as 'countless one night stands'. We've been together for about 9 months, and I recently tested positive. She says that during her routine gynecological exams, they tested her for stds, but she said they never drew blood. I always got tested during my routine metabolic panels, and never tested positive until recently. I'm taking the blame for putting her at risk, but I'm wondering, due to her compromised immune system, if she was actually the one who gave it to me. She's freaking out, I'm freaking out, but I don't really have the heart to ask her any more questions about it. It puts me in a really bad position, and now she blames me for possibly giving it to her. It's a lot to deal with.

You need both to calm out, seat and speak about that if you want to save your relationship. You must ask her everything you need to know. I think that if you both are looking who is guilty, taht is not good way as you will lose relationship.

It is very possible that she gave it to you. Did you go with other girls in that 9months? She ?

I've never had any kind of outbreak, and as far as I know, neither has she.
I'm not getting into the nature of the tumultuousness of our relationship, but we both have extensive sexual histories (however, she's had a more concurrent history of promiscuity than I). I got my lab results, and I know the cut-off values are 1.1, and I tested in at 1.12 and 1.17, which is not as high as the original rn had read to me (according to her, I tested in much higher) so I'm not sure if that means I am infected and contagious. I'm about to go get a second draw done to make sure.
