wow. never in a million years did i expect to be in a discussion forum with this topic. So, I am 21 years old and recently separated from my husband. I (like an idiot) hooked up with an ex boyfriend that had a cold sore and congrats u now have herpes! Well before I saw the doctor (and i was unaware of this) my husband and I decided to start talking and trying to work things out.. and again I made a horrible decision and had sex with him unprotected. He knew that I had been with the ex as i was trying to be honest to move forward in our relationship. Well, I called him a bit ago and had to break the news. I have an outbreak and it burns when I urinate...but ive still got 10 days to wait to find out what type. Its bad enough to find out that you have it but to give it to the person you love is another hard pill to swallow. Is there life after this? I'm scared to kiss my children... I'm scared to drink after people.. I'm lost.

so i just got the results back and in fact it is HSV 1 and HSV 2. I knew it was coming so I'm handling it better than I thought. My husband and I are trying to work things out now and he's going to get tested because it will be a miracle if he doesn't have it. I'm worried about my kids getting it because the nurse told me that alot of kids are infected as children from parents that have it (sharing drinks, etc.) I feel dirty and my hands are cracked im washing them so much. I can't believe this has happened. WOW.
