Hello..Well it is possible to pass on herpes through oral sex.Herpes is a communicable disease which means it can be transmitted from one person to another. Generally oral herpes is caused by the HSV‐1 virus, and genital herpes is mainly caused due to HSV‐2 virus. Over the past decade this has changed, mainly due to oral sex. This is probably the main reason why oral herpes can result from either the HSV‐1 or the HSV‐2 virus. Similarly, genital herpes can be the result of either of these two herpes viruses. It is the site where the virus invades and hides that determines whether one gets oral or genital herpes. If the virus ends up in the trigeminal ganglion in front of the ear, the sufferer gets oral herpes. If the virus ends up in the lumbosacral ganglia at the base of the spine, genital herpes results. Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) which can be contacted even through oral sex. Coming into contact with someone who has been infected with Oral Herpes could also pass on the virus through kissing.
