I doubted that my signs are from herpes. But my situation is clear now as I had herpes test and it is confirmed. I definitely caught herpes.
I think that it is when I had oral sex, and my question is
Has anyone caught HSV-2 from oral herpes?

Hello..Well it is possible to pass on herpes through oral sex.Herpes is a communicable disease which means it can be transmitted from one person to another. Generally oral herpes is caused by the HSV‐1 virus, and genital herpes is mainly caused due to HSV‐2 virus. Over the past decade this has changed, mainly due to oral sex. This is probably the main reason why oral herpes can result from either the HSV‐1 or the HSV‐2 virus. Similarly, genital herpes can be the result of either of these two herpes viruses. It is the site where the virus invades and hides that determines whether one gets oral or genital herpes. If the virus ends up in the trigeminal ganglion in front of the ear, the sufferer gets oral herpes. If the virus ends up in the lumbosacral ganglia at the base of the spine, genital herpes results. Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) which can be contacted even through oral sex. Coming into contact with someone who has been infected with Oral Herpes could also pass on the virus through kissing.

I have the same question. I have never had any of the symptoms that I will describe below before.
I visitied my BF who is in the air force for 4 days. We had a lot of rough sex. 4 days after arriving home I noticed two little bumps on the inside of my labia. They were sore to the touch and very itchy. (I remember the night before while sleeping, waking up because it was so itchy). The next morning I got in with the Doc. She looked and said they were blisters and she was pretty sure it was genital herpes. She took a swab of my vagina and a culture of the blisters. She put me on Acyclovir (400mg 3x per day). Im awaiting test results which should be here in a few days. The day after she cultures the blisters they multiplied! I felt two, she said she saw a few more then that, then the next morning I used a mirror and flash light and saw at least 12! This was so painful and itchy! Im wondering if they spread so quickly because of the culture and the fluid was now out in the open and could easily been spread. I did tell my boyfriend right away, as I remembered the last day before I left he had a little bump on his lip he complained about. He went to the doc. Needless to say it was a plugged saliva gland and showed no syptoms of herpes. Being in the air force, he is regularly blood tested and stated his Doc said he was all good two weeks before I got there. I was devistated to know I could have given him this! Although he did explain to me he had had an issue with cold sores since he was little. He and I dont remember him having any sores or signs of them while I was there. I automatically thought he probably had one and when he went down on me, this is where I got mine. But we cant be sure. If he has HSV-1 orally, is it possible for me to have HSV-2 genitally? IDK if that is possible...

Hello,
I don't think that it will transmit by having oral sex. I mean it is a transmitted disease but only if you have physical attachment.
