Acyclovir and Valtrex are antiviral drug, used for suppression and treatment of herpes virus infections.
But, both Valtrex and acyclovir are rated as pregnancy category B in the drug books. Does this means that they present little risk to newborns or unborn babies?
Please advise me

Be cautious. Manufacturers mentioned that evidence has emerged that acyclovir, and Valtrex (which turns into acyclovir in the bloodstream), are very safe during pregnancy.
But it is important that you consult with your doctor.

This is one thing I haven't checked into very much and I need to! I spoke with my friend, she's a OB/GYN Nurse. Pretty much the same thing as you thought, it's safe BUT check with your OB/GYN 1st!
