Herpes is an extremely contagious virus. Because it so easy to transmit, the occurrence of herpes whitlow, also known as finger herpes, is easy to contract. The biggest incidents of this herpes virus is in the sufferer themselves. If you have the virus and you touch an open sore during an outbreak, then forget to immediately wash you hand, you will probably get this form of the virus as well.

Tea bags, dampened, are one of the best remedies. Aloe vera works well and would be easier to apply on the fingers. Take care to always wash your hands multiple time a day, even when you aren't experiencing an outbreak.
